St. Francis English Cursillo
The Cursillo Movement - An Encounter with Christ
The Cursillo Movement is a global movement of the Church which by means of its own method makes it possible for people to live what is fundamental for being a Christian, and to live it together. We aim to help people discover and fulfill their personal vocations. It promotes the creation of core groups of Christians who leaven their environments with the Gospel.
The purpose of the Cursillo Movement is to make Christian Communities possible in neighborhoods, parishes, work places, and all other places where people live. Since it is a movement of the Church, the Cursillo Movement has the same purpose as the Church. We provide the means to evangelize by focusing to assist the baptized to identify and complete their mission on earth. Cursillo movement is to prepare men and women to go forth as apostles and proclaim the Gospel.
The Beginning of an Encounter with Christ
It begins with a three day experience of living Christianity. (Cursillo means in Spanish, "Little Courses"). In Christian community with daily mass, communion, and visits to the Blessed Sacrament. It starts of Thursday evening and ends Sunday. During those three days, those attending, live and work together listening to talks given by both priests and lay persons, in addition to participating in small group discussions.
