Pack 125

Bakersfield, California

Cub Scouting is a part of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). However, do not confuse us with Troop 125 (St. Francis' Boy Scout organization). Boys in first through fifth grades are Cub Scouts. Sixth grade and older boys are Boy Scouts.

Our organization is centered on the relationship between a boy and a parent working together through BSA approved programs and activities. The goal is to help parents teach their sons how to make good decisions as they become the leaders of tomorrow. Society teaches kids that material possessions and winning is everything. Scouting teaches boys to do their best and be helpful to others.

The BSA by-laws state that a person cannot fully mature without the belief and help of a higher being (i.e. God). The BSA program recognizes religion and encourages the free expression of it. Pack 125, being chartered by St. Francis Parish encourages each scout to earn the Religious Medals of their faith provided by BSA and to participate and assist in parish events.

The Pack consists of several dens, which are usually split by grade. First graders are Tigers. Second graders are Wolves. Third graders are Bears. Fourth and fifth graders are Webelos. Each den will have one or two meetings a month. The Pack meets as group once a month. Some of the Pack meeting activities are: camping, pinewood derby, can food drives, caroling, serving at homeless shelters, Blue & Gold dinner, push cart races.

We are always looking for adult volunteers to help with organization and supervision. If you or your son is interested in learning more about, or joining Pack 125, please call.
